Frequently asked questions
How do I get started?
Choose one clear, well-lit pet photo. Before anything can be uploaded for AI generation, the photo-review screen shows a compact notice naming Cloudflare, Kie.ai, and Google and explaining that your selected photo and pet details will be processed for AI artwork. The linked Privacy Policy provides the full request, model, variant, security, and retention details. AI processing is permitted only if you tap the explicitly labeled Allow AI & Continue button; you can use Back instead. Pawfile then shows the available plans. After Apple confirms access, artwork is created in the background while you continue through Reveal and setup.
Why did Pawfile reject an image?
Where the device's Apple safety policy enables Sensitive Content Analysis, Pawfile checks your selected photo on the device before any AI upload and checks each returned image before saving or displaying it. The image does not leave the device for this Apple check. If the check identifies sensitive imagery or cannot complete safely, Pawfile blocks the image. Choose a clear, well-lit photo showing only your pet and try again. This check does not run when the device's safety policy disables it.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Active subscribers can open Pawfile Settings and tap Manage subscription. You can also open iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → Pawfile, or use Apple's subscription page. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal.
How do I restore a purchase?
On the Pawfile paywall, tap Restore and use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. An active subscriber can also open Settings → Manage subscription and use the restore option. If restoration fails, confirm the Apple Account and network connection, restart Pawfile, and contact support with the Support ID.
How do I delete my account or app data?
Pawfile has no account. Delete an individual pet photo from the photo screen, or use Settings → Reset local Pawfile data to remove local pet photos, generated artwork, app state, widget content, scheduled local notifications, the current Live Activity, and stored AI permission choices; measurement is turned off. Resetting or deleting Pawfile does not cancel an Apple subscription or automatically delete remote records already held by Apple or Pawfile's service providers. For purchase records, email support with the Purchase Support ID shown in Settings. For AI or Live Activity records, include approximate dates, device details, and the exact issue; provider retention and available identifiers may limit whether a completed record can still be located or deleted.
What permissions does the app request?
Pawfile uses the Photos picker for images you choose, may request camera access to take a pet photo, and may request notifications for alerts, sounds, badges, and pet activity updates. Change access at any time in iOS Settings → Apps → Pawfile.
How do I withdraw permission for AI processing?
Open Pawfile Settings → AI photo processing and revoke permission. Pawfile will block new AI uploads and generation requests until you grant permission again. Withdrawing permission does not delete requests already processed; contact support with approximate dates, device details, and the exact issue if you want help determining whether a provider record can still be located or deleted.
How do I control analytics and attribution?
From version 1.0.1, new installations enable limited app and campaign measurement, with a separate Apple permission prompt for ad tracking. Open Pawfile Settings → App & campaign measurement to turn measurement off or on. Existing off choices remain off after upgrading. Declining Apple's tracking prompt blocks advertising identifiers and user-level partner sharing but does not disable limited measurement. Changes to RevenueCat attribution attributes are sent when connectivity permits. Earlier version 1.0 keeps all optional analytics off until you enable its Optional analytics & attribution setting. Turning measurement off does not erase historical provider records; contact support for data requests.
What should I do if something is not working?
Check your internet connection, confirm Pawfile is updated, close and reopen the app, and restart the iPhone. For widget or Live Activity issues, confirm Pawfile has notification and Live Activity access and open the main app once to refresh it. For generation issues, use Try again when Pawfile reports a temporary service problem; choose another clear, well-lit pet photo only when the app specifically says the image could not be used. If the issue continues, contact support with the Purchase Support ID for billing issues, or the exact error text and approximate time for app or generation issues.
Billing and refunds
Apple manages Pawfile payments, subscription cancellation, billing, and refunds. Pawfile cannot issue an App Store refund directly. To request one, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. The exact price and any eligible introductory offer are always shown by Apple before purchase.
